13th April 2019 - Gundog Training Day
We will holding a Beginner/Puppy and very Lower Novice training day in Uckfield, East Sussex. The trainers for the day will be Paul and Maddie Burr. The cost of the day is £15 for members and £18 for non members.
24th February 2019 - AGM
The Annual General Meeting was held on Sunday 24th February 2019. We would like to thank all members who attended and hope they enjoyed the rather excellent cake selection. Many thanks to Brian Jones who attended and gave an always interesting report on the rescue and rehousing situation of the breed. Thanks also go to Bob Allen who gave a report on the Breed Liaison Council and a review of their meetings.
We sadly said thank you and goodbye to our Chair Ann Youens who has done sterling work over the years. She has left big shoes to fill, but her journey and motorway escapades were getting a little too much from Skegness. We thank you Ann for all your hard work. We must welcome our new members of the committee, the new Chair Andrew Durrant (Glenturret) and committee members Izabela Kulczycka (Everblack) and Abby Bellamy (Moontorn) .. Welcome!

21st July 2019 - Gundog Training Day
This training day is for Novice Walked up with an emphasis mainly on steadiness with trainer Andrew Durrant. The day will be at Orchard Farm, Outwood, Redhill, Surrey with kind permission of Mr & Mrs Ian Smith. There will be two sessions one in the morning and one in the afternoon, followed by a Q&A. Your dog must be used to gun shot.
23rd November 2019 - Breed Appreciation Day/ Breed Specific Seminar
The Flatcoated Retriever Society will be hosting a Breed Appreciation Day and Breed Specific Seminar in Baginton, Coventry. The day costs £20 for members and £30 for non-members and includes lunch and refreshments. The day will include speaker Louise Jones presenting the breed standard, and offers the opportunities to all eligible the B list exam and Multiple choice exam. The afternoon consists of a practical session with hands on, and for those eligable a mentoring session. Booking forms must be completed and sent back by 1st November 2019. 1st December 2019 - Our Club Open Show
Its that fabulous time of year again when the notorious club Christmas tree is given an airing. We would like to thank Miss Glenys Williams (Wistaston) for judging the main show and Nicola Gemmell for the special award classes.
The venue is Testbourne Community School in Whitchurch, Hampshire with judging commencing at 10am. As with previous years tea and coffee with be available to purchase, but there will be no food, so do bring your own lunch. We would also greatly appreciate any raffle prizes! Please do come and support the club and the show, it’s always a lovely relaxed affair before the excitement of Christmas comes upon us.
